We are all extremely protective over our hair. We try different hairstyles, colour our hair, tie it different in order to make ourselves look more beautiful. However many people suffer from hairfall. There are many reasons for hair fall. Let me tell you a few. 

Heredity: 

A receding hairline, thinning of hair, or bald spots can be because of family history. It occurs gradually with age, and in predictable patterns.

Medication:

Certain medications, such as those of cancer, arthritis, depression etc. can also lead to hair loss.

Stress: 

Hair becomes thin because a major physically or emotionally stressful event as well. 

Hormonal Disturbance: 

Hormonal changes due to health problems can also cause hair loss. These conditions include pregnancy, childbirth, menopause, thyroid, etc. 

Hairstyles and Hair Treatment:

Trying different hairstyles or certain hairstyles that pull hair tightly and put extra pressure, can also be the reason for hair loss. Constantly coloring hair, straightening, curling, etc can also cause hair loss. 

Here are some general tips to help prevent hair loss

Heredity or genetics-induced hair loss cannot be prevented. However, for other preventable types, follow these tips:

  1. Avoid tight hairstyles like braids, buns and ponytails. Don't indulge in unnecessary straightening, curling or coloring of hair. If you curl, straighten or colour your hair, try to space it out so hair does not get damaged. 

  2. Be careful of medicines that cause hair fall. 

  3. Get rid of smoking and Alcohol as it also causes stress. 

  4. Eat healthy vegetables, fruits, dry fruits. Keep a healthy and balanced diet. 

  5. Don’t wash your hair often and use chemical free products. 

If you feel your hair loss is severe go to the doctor don't delay it. If we take care of our body our body will take care of us.
