Once again this year the Kollam District Deaf Forum (KDDF) organized a beautiful Onam event on 20th August 2023 for the Deaf in Kollam, Kerala.

Onam is a festival celebrated in Kerala. The 10 day festival is being celebrated from 20th August 2023 to 31st August 2023 where there will be different activities like pookalam, lemon and spoon race, boat race, dance, and other games. We feel proud to see Kerala and India's culture, festival being celebrated so beautifully.
Do you remember last year on the occasion of Onam, the Kollam District Deaf Forum (KDDF) had orgnanised an event on 21st August 2022. The event was held in Kollam. I am sure you all remember. Now once again the KDDF had organized an event on 20th August 2023. KDDF is a Deaf association from Kollam which is affiliated to the All Kerala Association of the Deaf, Trichur. While Shamnad S is the President of KDDF, Nishad N is the General Secretary and Suresh J is the Treasurer. Several kind hearted individuals gave donations for food, sewing machines, prizes etc for the Onam event held on 20th August 2023.
The KDDF team approached several individuals who agreed to sponsor the event. Let me tell you about these generous people.
You all know Ajmal Jan is famous for his ayurvedic products. Let me tell you what Ajmal donated for KDFF's Onam event. For the first time, he donated 5 sewing machines for Deaf women. He also donated a TV, gas stove, and water bottles.
Kevin John is a native of Kollam, Kerala but has now shifted to the UK. Kevin sponsored Sadya, which is typically served as a traditional feast for Onam.
This is Abraham Ajeesh who is a native of Kerala and is now living in Italy. Kind hearted Abraham sponsored the hall for the event.
Augustin B is from Kerala and has shifted to the United States of America. The generous man donated 50 grocery bags which contained rice, sugar, oil etc.
Muhammed Ali is from Kerala and he too gave donations for the Onam event.
Did you see? They generously donated to ensure the Deaf could enjoy the festival of Onam. Have a look at the pictures at the end, you will surely enjoy it. It is all thanks to KDDF's planning. A big round of applause to them. A big round of applause to the kind hearted sponsors as well. Happy Onam!
