The 2026 Assembly elections saw major shifts, with TVK emerging strongest in Tamil Nadu, BJP-led NDA retaining Assam, UDF winning Kerala, and NDA securing Puducherry.
Assembly elections were held across multiple states and Union Territories. After covering West Bengal, here’s a quick look at the other results:

Traditionally dominated by DMK and AIADMK, the 2026 elections saw a major three-way contest with Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, led by Vijay.
Out of 234 seats (118 needed): TVK won 108, DMK 59, AIADMK 47.
TVK emerged as the largest party, but fell short of a majority—alliances will decide the government.
Assam:
Out of 126 seats (64 needed), BJP won 82 and Indian National Congress got 19.
With allies Asom Gana Parishad and Bodoland People's Front (10 seats each), the NDA secured 102 seats—marking a third consecutive term.
Puducherry:
In the 30-seat Assembly (16 needed), the NDA led by All India N.R. Congress won.

Voter turnout was high at 89.87%, with notable third-gender participation (91.81%).
Kerala:
