20 Hindu Homes Set on Fire in Bangladesh

In Bangladesh, a photo was circulated on social media which showed that an important book of the Muslim community had been destroyed at a Durga Pooja pandal. The photo went viral and there was dangerous violence between Hindus and Muslims. Sixty six houses were vandalised and at least 20 homes of Hindus set on fire in Bangladesh. More than 200 people attacked a hindu temple. The attackers thrashed and stabbed to death an executive member of the temple committee. At least 150 Hindus have been injured and some 80 durga pandals were attacked across Bangladesh. Bangladesh's government has deployed paramilitary troops in 22 districts. Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has promised strict action against the people involved in the violence. She said, “The incidents are being thoroughly investigated. Nobody will be spared. It does not matter which religion they belong to. They will be hunted down and punished."Bangladesh Home Minister had said that 90 people have been arrested and they will hunt down the mastermind who planned all this.
