The India Embassy in Sudan has said that, 23 Indians died in a Gas Tanker blast at a factory in Sudan’s Capital Khartoum on 3rd December.60 Indians were employed in the factory. 130 people were badly injured in the blast. Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, said that Indian Embassy representatives rushed to the site. A 24-hour emergency hotline number (+249-921917471) has been set up.
The Embassy is also putting out updates on social media.The victims are from Bihar, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and Tamil Nadu. The embassy on Wednesday issued a detailed list of Indians who were hospitalised, went missing or survived the tragedy.There were inflammable materials which were not properly stored in the factory. This is why there was a blast and it spread all over. The Sudanese government said that an investigation has been launched.
