3 Test Positive For Coronavirus in Kerala
On saturday 1st February, An Air India flight brought back 323 Indian from China. This is because of the dangerous Coronavirus spreading there.These 323 are mostly students. They have been brought back and kept in quarantine in Manesar, Haryana. The Army is incharge. The Kerala government has announced that the state is in a big problem. This is because 3 people have tested positive for the dangerous Coronavirus. Kerala Health Minister KK Shailaja said "We don’t want people to be scared. The government is working hard to make sure the virus doesn’t spread.”
The coronavirus has killed over 350 people in China in the last four days. Till now, 140 samples from Kerala have been sent for testing, of which 46 are negative and three positive. All the three patients in Kerala are students who returned from China's Wuhan city. They were in physical contact with one another, including travelling together, officials said.
Over 2,000 people are under surveillance at their homes in Kerala for possible exposure to the virus.Seventy people are being monitored in isolation wards across the state. The first patient confirmed with the infection has shown improvement. For over a month, China has been working hard to control the virus. Last week the World Health Organization even declared the outbreak a global health emergency.China has managed to set up a 1,000-bed emergency hospital in Wuhan within eight days. Till now the Coronavirus has killed more than 300 people and infected 14,000 in china. The virus has spread to 25 countries around the world.
