On 2nd July 2023, a roller coaster ride at a fair in the c got stuck, leaving eight passengers hanging upside down for several hours. Local media reported that seven of the eight stranded are children.  The incident occurred at the Forest Country Festival in Crandon, Wisconsin, USA.  The Fire Department stated that a mechanical failure caused the ride to be stuck in an upright position.  Videos on social media and news footage showed rescuers climbing up the side of the ride to assist the stranded passengers.  The passengers were harnessed to ensure their safety during the rescue operation.

Fortunately, an off-duty firefighter with specialized rescue training was present at the scene and provided guidance to the fire department. Due to the height of the ride, specialized equipment and additional rescue teams were called in to assist.  A ladder truck with a 100-foot platform was called in from another place which was 45 minutes away. The rescue operation involved ten fire vehicles, nine ambulances, and a total of 50 firefighters from three cities joined in the rescue effort.
After reaching the passengers, the firefighters secured each one and then released their over-the-shoulder safety bars and brought them down to safety.  The first passenger was safely brought down after about two hours of being stuck and the last passenger was rescued more than three hours after the ride was stuck. All of the passengers were saved without any injuries and sent to the hospital for examination. Meanwhile in another incident in an amusement park in Mexico a 6 year old boy had a terrifying fall from a zip line. He reportedly fell at least 40 feet after his harness snapped. The frightening accident was caught on camera. (see video). Luckily, he landed in an artificial pool below where other tourists rescued him. The child was not seriously injured. The family said they plan on suing the ride operator for poor training and not having facilities to help rescue.
