Agra: ADA Employee's Deaf Wife Found Dead in Bed
The Deaf wife of a Housing Development Authority employee was found dead under suspicious circumstances in her bedroom in Agra on 12th February 2024.
In a disturbing turn of events, the Deaf wife of a Deaf husband was found dead under suspicious circumstances in her bedroom in Agra on 12th February 2024. The 38-year-old victim’s name is Pooja & her husband’s name is Santosh Srivastava who works as a class IV employee of Agra Development Authority. Pooja was the daughter of ex-railway employee - Bijendra Singh. Bijendra got Pooja married to Santosh in 2010. The couple lived with their 2 children - a 13-year-old son & a 4-year-old daughter in a house in Agra which was also bought by Pooja’s family & given to her. According to the reports, Pooja’s dead body was found by Bijendra at around 2:30 pm when he was dropping his granddaughter Ahana home from school. Bijendra told the police that the apartment door was open and the TV was playing when he entered inside. Ahana went to Pooja’s room and saw her ‘sleeping’. She tried waking her up but when Pooja didn’t, she started crying. Hearing Ahana’s cry, Bijendra entered the room & saw Pooja’s body lying on the bed. Her face & nails had turned blue & blood was dripping out from her nose and mouth. He immediately called his family members who also reached the apartment hurriedly. They rushed Pooja to the emergency ward of the nearest hospital where the doctor declared her dead. The police were informed and they ordered a post-mortem of Pooja’s body but the postmortem report was unable to specify the cause of death. Therefore, Pooja’s internal body parts were sent to the forensics department and her body was returned to her family for cremation. Apart from this, the forensics department also collected samples from the bedroom including a piece of the bedsheet. Throughout this Bijendra called Santosh but he didn’t pick up nor was to be found anywhere. He later switched off his phone and has been missing since. He was not present during Pooja’s post-mortem, her last rituals or the prayer meet. The police also checked the entry-exit records of Pooja’s apartment that are recorded at the main gate of the building to check who all visited her apartment that day. The police suspect that Pooja was poisoned by Santosh because of her face & nails being blue and bleeding from the nose & mouth. Bijendra told the police that no one can come inside the building premises without a security check. Even if any relative also comes, his record will be there. Pooja’s maternal family told the police that Pooja’s in-laws used to mentally harass her. Santosh started threatening to divorce Pooja after only 2 years of marriage. He even had relations with multiple other women and used to hit Pooja when she opposed this. Pooja had some injury marks around her neck. Therefore, Pooja’s family suspect Santosh to be the murderer and have filed a murder case against him and his mother.
