Air India Flight Lands in London After Bomb Threat
An Air India flight headed for Newark was diverted to London due to a bomb hoax.
The Mumbai International Airport informed Air India about an email they received from an anti-Israel terror group. In the email the terror group said that in three Air India flights, they have mixed the aircraft’s fuel with explosives. The mail said that they planned to blow up the Lufthansa Mumbai-Munich flight 767, Swissair Mumbai-Zurich flight 155 and the Air India Mumbai-Newark flight 191. When the Air India officials were informed about the mail, Lufthansa and Swissair flights had already landed. The AI 191 flight from Mumbai to Newark flight had 327 passengers on board.
In 1982 the AI 182 flight exploded in the air due to bombs planted by Cannadia Sikh Terrorists. There were 329 people onboard and everyone died. The airline did not want to take another risk. When the flight was flying over Ireland, the pilot received information from the airlines. The Air India flight was then escorted by two Supersonic Typhoons from the British Royal Airforce. These Typhoons were at an extremely high speed because they wanted to reach the Air India aircraft and prevent another 9/11 situation. Due to their high speed they made a very loud noise which scared the local residents. On social media as well everyone was talking about this. Thankfully the Typhoons reached the Air India aircraft in time and escorted the flight to London Stansted airport.
Minutes after the aircraft touched down, Air India tweeted about their precautionary landing at Stansted airport. Photographs on Twitter showed Air India passengers queued up along the aircraft ladder waiting their turn to be frisked by security officials and sniffer dogs.
