Alcohol Flows From Kitchen Tap in Kerala

A very strange incident occurred in the Thrissur District of Kerala.In Chalakudy, there is a building named Solomon’s Avenue Building.Joshy Maliyekkal is a resident of the building. A few days back he woke up in the morning and switched on the pump to fill his tank. When he opened one of the taps he was shocked and became very scared. The water was a dirty brown colour and the smell was very strong. Joshy realised that the smell was alcohol. When he asked his neighbours, even they were experiencing the same problem. 18 houses in the building were facing this problem.The residents then went to the Municipal office and complained about the water.
After investigating the officials found that, the excise department had seized 4,500 bottles of beer, rum, whiskey, Brandy and other types of alcohol.The Excise department had dumped all these bottles in the ground. The alcohol then flowed to a nearby well which was the main source of water for the Solomon’s Avenue apartment. The municipal officials have said they are providing clean drinking water to the residents. The well has been cleaned 8 times to remove all traces of alcohol.The officials have said till the well water is completely clean, they will keep giving the residents water.
