All India Doctors Go On All India Strike
Doctors across India will go on strike to protests against the center’s decision to allow post-graduate Ayurvedic doctors to conduct a variety of general surgeries.
Doctors across India will be going on strike on 11th December 2020. The strike has been called to protest against the Centre's decision to allow post-graduate Ayurvedic doctors to conduct a variety of general surgeries, including orthopedic, ophthalmology, ENT, and dental. The Indian Medical Association (IMA) has said doctors will not work on non-COVID and non-essential services for 12 hours today on the 11th of December. The strike will last from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm.
IMA has maintained that emergency services such as casualty, labor rooms and emergency surgeries won't be affected by the strike. Doctors will continue working on such cases. IMA has also said the protests may increase in the next few weeks. Private hospitals across the country have raised concern over the strike and are taking steps to ensure the smooth functioning of services.
