Naya Rivera is or was an American actress, model, and singer. She is best known for playing cheerleader Santana Lopez in Glee a musical comedy TV series that ran from 2009 to 2015. Glee made Rivera a star in America. It was reported that Naya Rivera, a 33 year old, has gone missing since 8th July. The news has gone viral in the USA. According to police officials, on 8th July morning she had gone boating with her 4-year-old son at Lake Piru  , north-west of Los Angeles. She and her son had rented the boat for 3 hours. But after 3 hours they had still not returned. The workers then went to search for them. 

In the afternoon, they found the boat drifting at Lake Piru. Her 4 year old son was found asleep on board with his life vest on. He told the police that they went swimming but his mother never returned. A massive search and rescue operation was launched but they have not been able to find Naya. The police now believe she may be dead and are looking to recover her dead body. The police said that Naya Rivera is believed to have drowned in a ‘tragic accident’ while boating with her son on a lake in California. Teams are searching for her body but the conditions are difficult. Visibility in the lake is low and police also warned that if the body can be found at all, it could take weeks to find it. The police said, the goal is still to bring Naya home to her family so they can have some closure.

She married actor Ryan Dorsey in 2014 and divorced in 2018 and has joint custody of the child.Her final Instagram post on Tuesday 7th July shows herself and her son with the caption "just the two of us".
