ATM in Meghalaya Hospital Where the Inventor was Born
An ATM is being installed in a hospital in Meghalaya, India where its inventor Barron was born 96 years ago.
ATMs have made life easy for everyone. We do not have to go to the bank to withdraw money. If there is an atm we can withdraw money anytime anywhere. It was invented by a man named John Adrian Shepherd-Barron. He was an Indian born Scottish man. Barron got the idea for an ATM when he saw a machine dispensing chocolate bars. That’s when he thought of inventing a machine that can dispense money. He invented the ATM in 1965. The first ATM of the world was installed at a bank in London in 1967. An interesting fact is that Barron was born in a hospital named Dr H Gordon Roberts Hospital in 1925 Meghalaya. This hospital still continues to function. Since the hospital is going to complete 100 years next year, they have decided to install an ATM in the hospital. Medical Superintendent of the hospital Dr Roken Nongrum said, “The access to an ATM in the facility will help patient parties and staffers immensely. The ATM is special as the inventor Barron was born in this hospital 96 years ago.”
