Chandrayaan-2 Chandra (Moon) and Yaan (Vehicle)], is India's first unmanned moon mission. The main aim of the mission is to land the spacecraft on the moon's surface. The spacecraft will cover  3.84 lakh km from earth to the moon. The aim of the mission was to conduct experiments on the moon’s surface, find out about the various minerals in the moons ground and soil, find out the presence of elements such as oxygen, nitrogen, etc. and it’s abundance. They also want to find out about the moon’s atmosphere. The project also wants to see if there is the presence of any extraterrestrial life (Aliens). The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) said that this mission is extremely important.  They said that the moon will give us information regarding the history of earth and the solar system. We have some information about the origin of the moon but we still need more answers. 

ISRO has worked hard for many years on the Chandrayaan-2. However, compared to other projects it was still cheaper.The total cost of the project was pegged at Rs. 978 crore. Their budget was less than the budget of the Hollywood movies like Avengers: Endgame ($356 million) and Avatar ($478 million). The whole world was very interested to see India’s extremely cheap project. Chandrayaan-2 was scheduled to be launched at 2:51 am on July 15 from Satish Dhawan Space Center (SHAR) in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh. Journalists from around the world came to Sriharikota to see India complete the project.  President Ram Nath Kovind was present. 

However due to technical difficulties, at the last minute the ISRO scientists announced to postpone the launch and said they would announce the date later. On 18th July ISRO Tweeted that the launch will take place on Monday 22 July at 2:43 pm. If India successfully completes this mission, it will be the fourth country to land a spacecraft on the moon after US, Russia, and China.
