China to Import Dogs & Donkeys From Pakistan

Pakistan, which has been struggling with severe floods, might witness some monetary relief in terms of exports of donkeys & dogs to china.

India always had an aggressive history with its neighbours Pakistan & China. But now Pakistan is in the news again because of a weird reason. Different countries are famous for their indigenous, native material that is very much in demand in other countries for very obvious reasons. Now Pakistan, which has been struggling with severe flood and related problems and the political crisis might witness some monetary relief in terms of exports of donkeys and dogs. China was a big market for exporting meat like dog meat and donkey meat. China needs donkeys for meat as well as to prepare an exotic medicine named E’jiao, which is made by boiling donkey skin.

In the 2nd century BC, a royal woman apparently used E’jiao to prevent her miscarriage and her son became the emperor of China. However, the growing demand for E’jiao saw most donkeys in China being skinned and boiled, and it now faces an acute donkey shortage. In 2017, it was reported that China was faced with a shortage of donkeys. And Pakistan has the 3rd largest donkey population.

China and Pakistan were working on a project to breed donkeys together. Donkeys are used widely for transportation in Pakistan. They are part of the local culture, with donkey cart races being a popular sport. Pakistan’s Ministry of Commerce said that China is interested in importing donkeys & dogs from the country. The minister also said that they might think of importing the animals from Afghanistan because animals are comparatively cheaper there. Pakistan can import them from there and then export the meat to China.

The news of China importing Donkeys & Dogs from Pakistan for meat is not just shocking but also explains the cruelty behind killing innocent animals just in order to generate monetary revenue.
