Court Grants Bail to Rapist & Woman to Tie Rakhi

A woman, a resident of Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh had lodged a complaint against her neighbour on April 20 that he had barged into her house and sexually harassed her. In relation to the case, the Madhya Pradesh High Court's Indore bench declared an outrageous verdict. The High Court said that the man will be granted bail but he has to fulfil the court’s condition. Judge Rohit Arya said: The man along with his wife will have to visit the house of the complainant with a Rakhi at 11 am on August 3 with a box of sweets and request the complainant to tie the Rakhi band to him. He will protect her to the best of his ability for all times to come. The man will also give Rs 11,000 to the woman as a customary ritual, usually offered by the brothers to sisters on such an occasion and shall also seek her blessings. The man will also give Rs 5,000 to the son of the woman for purchase of clothes and sweets. The court ordered that when the man does all this he needs to click pictures and submit them to the court.
