Damoh Murder Case: Man Kills Boy, Eats His Head, and Drinks Blood From His Body
A man in Damoh brutally killed 16-year-old Bharat Vishwakarma in a shocking random attack, and police later arrested the accused Gudda Patel.
A shocking murder in Madhya Pradesh has left people across the country horrified. The incident took place on 5 March 2026 in Samanna village in the Damoh district.
According to police, a 46-year-old man named Gudda Patel brutally killed a 16-year-old boy, Bharat Vishwakarma. Bharat had come from Arthkheda village to visit his married sister in Samanna village for a small tilak ceremony.
After meeting his sister, Bharat was returning on a motorcycle with his cousin Vijay Vishwakarma at around 1:30 pm. While they were passing through the village, Gudda Patel suddenly attacked Bharat from behind with an iron rod, knocking him to the ground.
Frightened by the attack, Vijay ran back to the village and informed others. Meanwhile, Patel repeatedly hit Bharat on the head with a hammer. The teenager suffered severe head injuries and died on the spot. Police said there was no known dispute between the two, and the attack appeared to be completely random.
When villagers heard the boy screaming, they rushed to the location. According to eyewitnesses, they saw Patel behaving in a disturbing manner near the victim’s body. As more villagers gathered, they tried to catch him, but Patel threatened them with the hammer and iron rod.
After the attack, he ran towards nearby farms. Angry villagers chased him and began throwing stones to stop him from escaping. Patel also threw stones back while trying to hide in the fields.
Police were informed and soon reached the village. Officers surrounded the area where Patel was hiding. After nearly an hour of searching, with help from villagers, police managed to capture him and take him into custody.
During the investigation, police also found that Patel had a violent criminal history. Several years ago, he had killed his wife by slitting her throat and was sentenced to 13 years in prison. He had reportedly been released recently before this incident, though some reports say he had been released about two years ago.
Bharat Vishwakarma’s family has demanded strict punishment for the accused. One of his relatives told reporters that Patel should be given the death penalty.
Police are continuing their investigation to find out the exact reason behind the attack. Authorities have also said that the accused may undergo a medical examination to check his mental condition.
