Dutch YouTuber Attacked in Bengaluru’s Thieves Market
A man was arrested in Karnataka’s Bengaluru for allegedly manhandling Pedro Mota a Dutch YouTuber. For the full story check out the video.
Dutch Youtuber Pedro Mota is on a tour of Karnataka for two months. The name of his YouTube Channel is Madly Rover. He was at the thieves' market in Bengaluru, also known as the Sunday market or chor bazaar. He was near the Chickpet market area of the city. While walking through the narrow streets, he was vlogging the entire experience. Mota had some street food, met great local Indian people and haggled for a new buttoned shirt. But exploring the area started out on the wrong foot. In the viral video, a man (presumably a shopkeeper) can be seen harassing the vlogger while he was shooting a video in the busy Bengaluru market.
In the video, the Dutch YouTuber was heard saying, “Namaste, sir”, while the man grabbed his hand and started shouting, “Ye kya hai (What is this).”
The angry man attacked him by grabbing and twisting his hand and arm. Mota asked the man to let go of his hand. Despite the heckling, the YouTuber manages to escape. The video of the shocking incident is going viral on social media platforms. However other Indians spoke to him nicely and greeted him very warmly. This shows our Indian hospitality. After the video went viral, Bengaluru police registered a case against the accused and later arrested him. Section 92 of the Karnataka Police Act has been imposed on Sharif. Section 92 prescribes punishment for street offenses and nuisance and imposes a fine which may extend to Rs 100 and in case of default of payment of such fine shall not exceed eight days. This is not the first time that foreign nationals have been assaulted in India. Back in December, a South Korean vlogger made headlines after she was harassed on the streets of Mumbai by two men.
