Ex-Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj Passes Away
67-year-old senior BJP leader and Ex-Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj passes away due to a cardiac arrest.
67-year-old Senior BJP leader and Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj, died yesterday at 9:30 pm in the evening due to cardiac arrest . She was taken to AIIMS hospital, but the doctors could not revive her. Sushma was the BJP’s first woman CM, Union Cabinet Minister, Leader of the opposition and also India’s first full time female Foreign Minister. She was the first Foreign Minister who made the Ministry accessible through Social Media. Whenever Indians around the world had any problem, they would tweet her and she would always help to solve their problems.
Sushma was suffering from many complications due to Diabetes. In 2016, Tweeted about her Kidney failure. She so loved by everyone, that people even offered to give her their kidneys. Eventually she had a Kidney Transplant as well. Since then she was hospitalised a few times but everyone thought she was getting better. Earlier this year, Sushma decided not to take part in the elections due to health reasons. Her last Tweet was yesterday evening. She Tweeted and Thanked PM Modi for making J&K becoming a new UT. After her death, PM Modi said that, Sushma was respected by all in the BJP. She was an excellent administrator. PM Modi said that even though her health was not good, she worked very hard in the Foreign Ministry.
She is survived by her husband Swaraj Kaushal and daughter Bansuri. Sushma’s body will be kept at the BJP headquarters in Delhi from 12pm - 3pm for people to pay their respects. She will then be cremated at 3pm.
