Father-Son Eat and Run Away from Taj Hotels in Mumbai
Father and son eat their fill at fine dining restaurants across the Mumbai, and run away without paying the bill.
Suhas Nerlekar [57] and his son Swapnil [32] years old, duped many Taj hotels in Mumbai. They would pretend to be businessmen, call the hotels to book a room and asked the hotels to send a car to pick them up. When they would reached the hotel, they would say they were very tired and would like to eat at the restaurant before checking in. The father and son would eat at the fine dining restaurants, and run away without paying the bill. They used this trick at different hotels.
At the Vivanta President, a hotel by the Taj group, they tried to run away after a generating a bill of Rs 8,831 but the hotel staff caught them. The hotel called the police immediately when they realised that they were not going to pay the bill.
The police said that the father and son has also cheated the Taj Mahal Palace at Colaba by not paying a bill of Rs 32,000. After Vivanta President filed a complaint even the Taj Mahal Palace filed a complaint with the Colaba Police station. The Cuffe Parade police arrested them based on the two complaints.
The police said that they even cheated a Taj hotel in Santacruz.
