First Condom Vending Machine in India
Just like snacks, you can now get condoms from a vending machine! Know where and how!!!
Sex, to a large extent, is considered a taboo in our country, even today. Moreover, taking precautions while having sex is something not everybody agrees to. The ones who want to use it find it awkward to go to a medical shop and ask for it. Looking at this situation, two mechanical engineers invented a condom vending machine, which is now installed in Surat, Gujarat. This machine is one-of-its-kind in the state of Gujarat. The condom vending machine was invented by two mechanical engineers, Bhavik Vora and Jigar Unagar. These two men passed their mechanical engineering exams from S.S. Gandhi Engineering College in Surat, Gujarat.
In April 2023, the vending machine was installed at Shyam Medical in Dabholi Char Rasta, Surat. This news was shared on Instagram some hours ago. Using this machine is very simple and quick, which makes it a better option than visiting a store and asking for it. There are four types of condoms available in the machine. There are pictures of these condom boxes on the machine, with a button and product number written below them.
All you have to do is press the button under the product that you wish to buy. After you press the button, the screen will show you the price of the product with a QR code for you to scan and pay. Once the payment is made, the product is pushed out of the machine for you to collect. Throughout India, this is not the first time that condom vending machines have been put up. They were also previously put up in Maharashtra and Delhi in 2008. 2009 and 2014 too. But, none of the attempts were successful. Some machines were not being used at all, some got stolen and some machines were broken. The lack of research made this very unsuccessful.
