Former Telangana CM Rao Admitted In Hospital After Election Loss?
Telangana CM Reddy visited his opponent and former CM K. Chandrashekhar Rao at the hospital. Rao has undergone a hip replacement surgery after falling in his bathroom.
Congress Lok Sabha member and the current Chief Minister of Telangana, Mr. Revanth Reddy won hearts when he visited the former Telangana CM & his opponent K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) at hospital on 10th December 2023. The video of the visit was posted by ANI News. In the video we can see CM Reddy wearing a mask and speaking to Rao in the hospital room. CM Reddy was there for some time and then left so that Rao could rest properly. Later, CM Reddy tweeted a picture of him with Rao and wrote “Visited former chief minister K C Rao, who was on rest, and inquired about his well-being.” CM Reddy also inquired Rao’s doctor about his conditions and has ordered the hospital to ensure optimal care for him. He also instructed the State Health Secretary, S.A.M. Rizvi to visit the hospital, extend all necessary help and monitor Rao’s treatment personally. While speaking to the reporters about his conversation with Rao, CM Reddy said “I requested him to recover fast and participate in the Telangana assembly session to voice the people's concerns. His advice is needed to offer good governance to the people.” CM Reddy’s hospital visit has highlighted the often missing mutual political respect between two rivals despite the daily political opposition. Former CM Rao who is the founder & leader of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi was admitted to Hyderabad's Yashoda Hospital on 7th December 2023. People speculated that Rao had suffered heart attack or stroke due to his defeat in the last elections but the news was soon rubbished when Rao’s Son KT Ramarao tweeted that Rao had fractured his left hip after falling in the bathroom of their Erravelli residence. Rao has undergone a hip replacement surgery which was conducted by a team of hospital’s senior orthopedic surgeons and medical professionals. He is now recovering at the hospital. According to the statement issued by the hospital, Rao is expected to recover within 6 to 8 weeks. The hospital is currently planning the physiotherapy and nutrition routine to ensure that he is able to walk without any assistance. PM Modi too expressed his concern for Rao’s health and wished him recovery by tweeting “Distressed to know that former Telangana CM Shri KCR Garu has suffered an injury. I pray for his speedy recovery and good health.”
