Government Announces Bonus For Railway Employees
The government has a major 78-Day Wage Bonus for the hard working Indian Railway employees.
After a Cabinet meeting on Wednesday 18th September, Union Minister Prakash Javadekar at a press conference announced that, the Railway Ministry has announced the 11 lakh employees working in the railways will receive a 78-day wage bonus. He said that the employees in the railways are very hardworking and productive. The Railways wants to reward them for their hard work. To pay the bonus, it will the government will have to pay a total of Rs 2024.40 crores. The Railways has been paying bonuses like these for the last 6 years.
They do this to encourage and motivate the employees. The bonus will be given to all employees of the railways, except the Railways Protection Force (RPF) and the & Type Railways Protection Special Force (RPSF) employees. These bonuses are part of the Productivity Linked Bonus (PLB), which is a scheme of the railway ministry. It means the more productive employees are the more bonus they will get. The government did this, because the Indian railways are very important to the economy and also help the people a lot.
