The Supreme Court on Tuesday said that its order for Green Crackers is only for Delhi for now and not for the whole country.
It also modified the timings for bursting crackers in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry instead of the 8-10 PM period it had fixed before.
However, crackers can be bursted only for two hours a day.
A few days after the Supreme Court order Tamil Nadu govt. & manufacturers asked the court to modification as it was not possible to manufacture green firecrackers on such short notice as Diwali is only a few days away.
Senior Advocate Ranjit Kumar told the court that manufacturers should be given time to change the quality of firecrackers and sellers should be allowed to sell their existing stock.
