Gunshots Fired at Salman Khan’s Home
Gunfire outside Salman Khan's residence sparks fear and investigation; authorities scramble for answers as the actor considers relocation for safety.
Mumbai, April 15, 2024: In a shocking turn of events, gunfire erupted outside the residence of Bollywood superstar Salman Khan in the early hours of Sunday morning, sending shockwaves through the entertainment industry and beyond. The incident occurred at approximately 5:00 am outside Galaxy Apartments in Bandra, where the actor and his parents reside.
Despite the terrifying ordeal, no injuries were reported as Salman Khan and his family were asleep inside their apartment at the time of the incident. However, the brazen attack has left authorities scrambling for answers and heightened concerns over the safety of the actor and his loved ones.
According to police reports, two unidentified assailants on a motorcycle approached Galaxy Apartments via the Bandra Bandstand. Both individuals, clad in helmets and caps, opened fire, with two bullets aimed at the balcony of the actor's first-floor apartment. Additional shots were fired into the air, creating panic in the neighborhood.
Security guards Sumit Naidu and Stalin Anthony rushed to the scene upon hearing the gunfire but were unable to apprehend the assailants, who fled towards Mehboob Studio before abandoning their bike near Mount Mary Church. From there, the perpetrators reportedly escaped in an autorickshaw, leaving behind a trail of uncertainty and fear.
Law enforcement agencies, including the Mumbai police and the state's Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), have launched a thorough investigation into the incident. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is also probing the matter from a potential terror angle, given the gravity of the situation.
Amidst the chaos, Mumbai's top police officials, including Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) Lakhmi Gautam and renowned encounter specialist Daya Nayak, have descended upon the scene to oversee the investigation.
An FIR has been registered against unidentified individuals under Section 307 (attempt to murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Arms Act. A total of 15 police teams have been deployed to track down the perpetrators, with authorities suspecting that the assailants may have fled Mumbai following the attack.
In a disturbing development, gangster Lawrence Bishnoi's brother, Anmol Bishnoi, claimed responsibility for the attack through a social media post, citing past grievances against Salman Khan. The Bishnoi gang has a history of issuing threats to the actor, stemming from allegations of animal cruelty during the shooting of a film in Rajasthan in 1999.
In response to the escalating threat, Salman Khan's father, Salim Khan, has reportedly advised the actor to consider relocating to a safer location, away from Galaxy Apartments. The news has sparked widespread concern among fans and the public, prompting heightened security measures at the actor's residence.
As investigations continue and tensions remain high, authorities are working tirelessly to ensure the safety and security of Salman Khan and his family, while also seeking justice for the brazen attack that has rattled Mumbai's entertainment hub.
