Gurugram Horror: 19-Year-Old, Locked, and Private Parts Burnt Using Sanitiser

A 19-year-old student from Tripura was rescued in Gurugram after allegedly being assaulted and confined by her boyfriend, who has been arrested, and the investigation is ongoing.

A 19-year-old student from Tripura was allegedly assaulted by her boyfriend in Gurugram. The young woman had come to the city in 2025 to study biotechnology at a private university. She was staying in a paying guest accommodation in Sector 69 and was living away from her family for higher studies.

In September 2025, she met a 19-year-old man named Shivam from Narela in Delhi through a dating app. He was unemployed and living with his sister. Their relationship progressed quickly. They began meeting often, later started living together, and discussed marriage.

According to the police complaint, arguments began over their future and marriage plans. The accused allegedly became jealous and suspicious. By mid-February 2026, the situation reportedly turned violent.

The survivor told police that she was physically assaulted and wrongfully confined inside their rented room for several days. She alleged that she was denied basic necessities and threatened repeatedly. She also accused him of sexual assault on the false promise of marriage and of attempting to blackmail her using private videos.

On 16 February 2026, her condition reportedly became serious after another incident of assault. Despite her injuries, she managed to call her mother around 10 pm and informed her that she was in danger. On 18 February, she again contacted her family and asked for immediate help.

Her mother, who is a police officer in Tripura, alerted authorities in Gurugram. Police conducted a raid and rescued the young woman the same night. The accused was arrested at the scene.

She was first admitted to a government hospital in Gurugram, where doctors described her condition as critical. Due to the seriousness of her injuries, she was referred to All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Delhi for advanced treatment and later treated at Safdarjung Hospital. After her condition stabilised, police recorded her detailed statement.

An FIR was registered on 19 February 2026 under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita, including wrongful confinement, causing hurt, sexual offences and criminal intimidation. Police said they are examining medical reports and digital evidence. They added that the investigation is ongoing and the case is being treated as a priority.

The survivor’s lawyer stated that stronger charges were later added after medical examination and the victim’s statement. The young woman’s mother has demanded strict action and justice.

The case has raised concerns about the safety of young students living away from home and the risks associated with online relationships. The survivor remains under medical care and is recovering from physical and emotional trauma.
