A pani puri vendor from Guwahati, Assam was seen urinating into the water used to make pani puri. He has now been arrested.
We love street food, but hygiene concerns restrict us from indulging in lip-smacking delicacies like Pani Puri, Chaat, Vada Pav, Pav Bhaji, etc.
A video of a Pani Puri vendor in Guwahati, Aasam will leave you disgusted. In the video he can be seen urinating in a mug and then pouring it with the water to be served to the customers. The vendor also used the same utensil to serve the food. He didn't even wash his hands.
According to news reports, as soon as the video went viral, he was arrested and local police assured strict action against him.
This is not the first time when street vendors have been caught doing things like this.
In 2017, Chetan Nanji Marvadi, a pani puri vendor of Gujarat was also found urinating in the pani puri liquid and was sentenced to six months’ imprisonment. And in 2020, another pani puri seller in Maharashtra’s Kolhapur was caught mixing toilet water in pani puri.
