Imran Khan Writes to Modi to Restart Talks
Pakistani Prime Minister, Imran Khan writes a letter to Indian Prime Minister, Modi, to restart talks between the two nations.
In a letter in September 2018, Khan proposed a meeting between the foreign ministers of the countries, at the United Nations General Assembly. Khan said that Islamabad was ready to discuss the issue of terrorism.
However, the very next day, India cancelled this meeting with Pakistan.
On Pakistan National Day (23rd March), Indian PM Modi, wrote a letter to Pakistani PM Imran Khan. In the letter, he greeted the people of Pakistan, and said that it was time to work for a progressive, democratic, and prosperous region, in an environment which is free from terror and violence.
In a response to this letter, the Pakistani Prime Minister, Imran Khan wrote a letter to Indian Prime Minister Modi, saying that it was important to restart dialogues between the two countries to solve all the problems between them, including the issue of Jammu and Kashmir. Imran Khan, didn’t make any mention of terrorism, but he did speak about the issue of Jammu and Kashmir.
He called for dialogue on all issues.
Leaders of India and Pakistan are likely to come face to face in June, at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Kyrgyzstan.
