India Beats Pakistan by 5 Wickets: Pandya Wins Hearts
India has defeated its rival Pakistan in its opening game of Asia Cup 2022, with brilliant performances of Pandya, Jadeja & Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
The world is preparing for the T20 World Cup, which is scheduled to start on 16th October this year. What's better to prepare for than a T20 match played between the two greatest rivals on the field which they played in the Asia Cup.
The Asia Cup started on 27th August. It has 2 groups of 3 teams each. Group A included India, Pakistan and Hong Kong. While Group B includes Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. Top 2 teams of each group will then go on to play Super 4 and then the Final. India played its first match on 28th August, against arch rival Pakistan.
The high voltage match was played in the Dubai International stadium, in UAE, with the stadium flooded with fans from both the countries including celebrities like Vijay Deverakonda, Urvashi Rautela and several others. India started its day winning the toss, after which Rohit Sharma decided to ball first. With an outstanding performance by the Indian fast bowlers, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar cracking some early wickets. Pakistan were all out for 147 in 19.5 overs. In the Indian bowling lineup, the super experienced Bhuvneshwar Kumar took 4 Wickets, followed by Hardik Pandya with 3 wickets.
When India started their innings, it lost its first wicket in the very first over with KL Rahul getting out for scoring nothing in the very first match. Later, Virat Kohli & Rohit Sharma managed to hit a few boundaries and keep the scoreboard running. However, the partnership did not go on for a very long time as Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli lost their wickets in successive overs. Ravindra Jadeja and Surya Kumar Yadav kept the scoreboard moving, hitting a few very good shots. When Surya Kumar Yadav lost his wicket, Hardik Pandya had the responsibility to partner with Jadeja and lead India towards victory.However, both of them did their job pretty well with over 50 runs partnership. But the heartbeats were raised again in the last over when Ravindra Jadeja lost his wicket. Now India needed 6 Runs in 3 Balls, and Hardik hit the ball for a massive six and finished the match in style. India won the high voltage game with the all round performance of Hardik Pandya, who scored 33 runs in just 17 balls along with taking 3 wickets and was given the Man Of the Match.
