Indian Navy Sailor Arrested for Sending Information to Pakistan
Adarsh Kumar, an Indian Navy sailor from Agra, was arrested in March 2026 for allegedly leaking naval secrets to a Pakistani ISI agent after falling for an online "honey trap."
In 2023, a 24-year-old Indian Navy sailor named Adarsh Kumar from Agra became the center of a major spying investigation. While working as a mechanic at the Kochi naval base, he met a woman on Instagram.
Security agencies believe this woman was actually an agent for Pakistan’s ISI. Using a method called a "honey trap," she gained Adarsh’s trust over several months. He is suspected of sending her secret photos of Indian warships and sensitive details about the Navy’s work.
The UP Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) began tracking Adarsh after receiving tips about a leak. They monitored his phone calls and bank accounts, where they reportedly found money transfers linked to a handler in Pakistan.
In February 2026, Adarsh got married. There is a disagreement about his honeymoon: investigators say he went to Dubai, but his family says he only went to Manali. On March 10, 2026, while home on leave in his village near Agra, he was arrested.
While the family denies the allegations, ATS claims they have proof of his spying and the money he received.
The investigation is still going on to find the full truth.
