Indigo Transports Heart from Vadodara to Mumbai in 2.5 Hours

Everyone loves superhero films- be it a child or adults. These heroes rescue someone in need very quickly. We all know that these are fictional characters. However Indigo airlines has turned out to be the latest superhero after the airlines transported a heart from Vadodara to Mumbai in Just 150 Mins. A live heart which was donated by someone in Vadodara was successfully transported from Vadodara to Mumbai by an IndiGo flight on June 7 in just over two hours. This is well within the live organ transfer time limit of 3 hours.Once the heart reached Mumbai. A heart transplant operation was successfully performed at Global Hospital in Parel and helped save a precious life. Earlier, the airline had also helped transport live organs - a pair of lungs, from Pune to Hyderabad on May 20. This initiative was done by establishing a green corridor in both cities. The team worked in tandem with the Pune Police, CISF, and Airport Authority of India (AAI) team to ensure the safe transfer of the live organs. In another incident, a patient in need of a kidney transplant died at the medical college hospital in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala on 20th June, allegedly due to a four-hour delay in the procedure
The kidney, which was donated from a 34-year-old brain dead donor in Ernakulam. It was brought to Thiruvananthapuram on 19th June evening within 2.5 hours, through a “Green Corridor System”. However, alleged that there was a delay of around four hours for the kidney transplant even after the organ reached the hospital in Thiruvananthapuram and because of that the patient died. State Health Minister Veena George, said the Heads of Nephrology and Urology departments in the medical college hospital have been suspended for lack of coordination and inquiry is going on.
