Internet Sensation Kili Paul Attacked
Recently, Tanzania’s Kili Paul, Instagram and Tik Tok sensation was attacked and beaten by five people
You all are aware that Tanzania’s Kili Paul and his sister Neema are Instagram and Tik Tok sensations who have gone viral for lip-syncing to popular Indian film songs.
In February 2022, during his Mann Ki Baat talk, PM Modi mentioned the Tanzanian siblings and said, "Just like the sibling duo of Kili & Neema, I urge everyone, especially kids from different states to make lip-syncing videos of popular songs from a state different than theirs. We'll redefine 'Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat' & popularize Indian languages." Responding to this Kili had said that PM Modi talking about him means a lot to him and has inspired him more.
In the same month Kili was also honoured by the High Commission of India in Tanzania. We had released a story about this earlier.
Recently, Kili Paul, was attacked with a knife and beaten with sticks by five people. A video shared by him shows him lying on a stretcher with a bandaged thumb and injuries on his legs. He wrote, "I was attacked by 5 people. In the movement of defending myself my right-hand thumb was injured by a knife and I got 5 stitches and I was beaten by sticks and clubs but thank god I defended myself after beating two people. They run away but I was already injured. Pray for me… this is scary” He also wrote in the Instagram story, “People want me down but God will always take me up. Pray for me,"
