In Kerala's Kollam, this is the Deaf association that has tied up with AKAD. Kollam District Unit's President is Shamnad S - sign name. He decided to do something as in June schools start reopening & Deaf students will resume their classes. He thought of supporting them by giving bags, pencil box, stationery, water bottles, lunch box, etc.

Shamnad then approached Kevin John who was raised in Kollam and had relocated to the UK. Kevin then decided to support the students as Kollam was his hometown. The second donor was Ajmal Jan. You all know him as the person who always creates awareness about health benefits of ayurveda. Shamnad spoke to Ajmal & Kevin and both of them decided to make the donation. Shamnad & General Secretary Nishad N both held meetings to execute the donation drive.

To have the drive before school starts, 29th May 2022 was decided as the date for the event. A good hall was selected, Ajmal was invited and the donation drive was held. Bags, pencil box, water bottles, etc. were included in the donation kits. These were distributed to more than 100 kids. Kevin & Ajmal were very happy to see the initiative executed to perfection.
