Lucknow Girls Explains Why She Slapped the Driver
The Lucknow girl who was caught beating up a taxi driver in a viral video has recently spoken up about what happened on that night.
We had recently released news about a viral video, showing a woman thrashing a cab driver at a traffic signal in Lucknow. The video had sparked outrage on social media platforms, with netizens trending hashtags like #ArrestLucknowGirl. News channels interviewed the 28 year old girl Priyadarshini to learn her side of the story. She said, “There was a red light that night but still the cars were moving. The traffic police were there that time but they were not at all bothered.I have many health problems. I have problems in my heart, Kidney, Liver, brain, etc. Since the signal was red I crossed the road at the Zebra crossing. The cab driver was talking on the phone while driving. He sped past the car, broke the traffic signal and I thought he was about to hit me as well. When the car touched me, I broke his phone and hit him. Police and people who were there were merely watching the spectacle.”
Talking about the incident, the woman claimed that the cab driver got what he deserved and that she was not apologetic for the incident as the man had broken the law. Priyadarshini Yadav also said that the driver allegedly returned later with a mob of around 100 goons who hit her very badly. She also showed injuries to prove it and claimed that there is no CCTV footage to prove that. The cab driver, however, refuted her claim that he jumped the red signal. In an interview, he said that he follows traffic rules and halted his car when the signal was red. He said that the lady has damaged both his phone and his car. In fact, he had to incur a loss of Rs. 60,000. On being asked about what he wants now, he said that he wants his lost self-respect back.
