Major Drug Trafficker Salim Dola Close Aide of Dawood Ibrahim Deported to India
Salim Dola, a close aide of Dawood Ibrahim, was extradited from Turkey to India and is now in custody for his alleged role in a large international drug network.
Salim Dola, a close aide of Dawood Ibrahim, was extradited to India from Istanbul on 28th April after a joint operation by Turkish authorities. He is now in custody of the Narcotics Control Bureau in Delhi and will be handed over to Mumbai Police.
Born in Mumbai’s Byculla, Dola rose from small-time smuggling to becoming a key figure in the drug trade, with links to Chhota Shakeel and the D-Company network. Over the years, he shifted from marijuana trafficking to synthetic drugs, including fentanyl-based substances.
He was arrested multiple times—first in 2012 with marijuana and later in 2018 with a large fentanyl haul—but managed to secure bail and eventually fled to the United Arab Emirates. From there, he allegedly ran a massive international drug network spanning India, the UAE, and Turkey, reportedly worth thousands of crores.
Tracked under an Interpol Red Notice, Dola was found living under a fake identity in Turkey. His arrest follows earlier crackdowns on his network, including the deportation of close relatives.
Now back in India under tight security, Dola is being interrogated not just for drug trafficking but also for alleged money laundering, as agencies continue to unravel the scale of his operations.
