Man Creates Own Country With Only Rs.15 Lakh

You may be wondering if you can create your own country within a country. It is possible to create your own country within the United States, but it is a very difficult and complex process. There are a lot of rules - legal and administrative laws for creation of new nations within its borders. Recognition from the U.S. government and other nations is required. The new country should also have a stable and functioning government and infrastructure. Additionally, it also needs to meet the requirements of international law, including the United Nations.
Williams is a travel enthusiast. During his exploration, he ventured to the Republic of Molossia which is a micronation in Nevada, USA. Williams said that one of the reasons he created Slowjamastan was because he has visited all the 193 countries and now he wanted 194th. Upon returning, Williams immediately pursued his ambitious goal of establishing his own country. He purchased a stretch of an 11.07-acre land in California's desert, for $19,000 which is about Rs 15 to Rs 16 lakhs. Undeterred by challenges, Williams worked tirelessly, and then declared the independence of Slowjamastan. He broadcasted the secession live from his office in Dublândia, the capital of his newly established country. The micronation has not been officially recognized by the United States although Williams' Slowjamastan passport has been stamped by 16 countries. His newly founded country was named after his radio show. He appointed himself 'Sultan' of this country. The republic has over 500 registered citizens, with an additional 4,500 individuals either conditionally approved or patiently awaiting citizenship. The country has its own passports, flag, and currency - the Duble which trades at a 1:1 exchange rate with the US Dollar. Slowjamastan's system of government primarily operates as a dictatorship. However, there are occasional opportunities for citizen participation through voting ceremonies and referendums. Notably, citizens recently had the chance to vote on aspects such as the national fruit, sport, and even the name of the national animal. Williams enjoys dressing up in a flashy green Sultan's uniform, complete with faux military awards, fancy shoulder decorations, and cool sunglasses. You need a visa to enter the country. To avoid being kicked out, everyone in Slowjamastan, whether they live there or are just visiting, must follow a list of rules. You can't wear Crocs, You have to eat string cheese by pulling it apart. Williams said the micronation has no infrastructure but plans are in place to build a Mongolian BBQ restaurant, lazy river etc . Now allowing tourists to enter, his next big idea is to gather funds for exciting projects.
Williams is not the only one who created his own country.
