In a tragic incident, a 23-year-old man named Maloth Anil died from electrocution in Telangana after he accidentally touched a live wire while sleeping. The incident occurred on October 25, 2024, in Kamareddy district. Anil had extended a live wire near his bed to charge his mobile phone and fell asleep. Unaware, he touched the wire and received a severe shock, leading to his family rushing him to a nearby hospital. He was later transferred to a government facility but sadly passed away while receiving treatment. Anil leaves behind a wife and a one-and-a-half-year-old daughter.

In another case, a 24-year-old man named Srinivas from Bengaluru died after getting electrocuted at home. Reports say he plugged his mobile charger into a socket that was already switched on, which caused a fatal shock. His two roommates witnessed the incident and rushed him to the hospital, but he was declared dead on arrival. Doctors believe Srinivas might have had wet hands while charging his phone, which increased the risk of electrocution.

These incidents serve as a reminder of the dangers of electricity, especially during the festive season of Diwali when many people will be decorating their homes with fairy lights. To ensure safety, remember to follow these precautions:

- Do not plug in lights to a switched-on socket.

- Keep your hands completely dry when handling electrical items.

- Ensure there is no water near sockets and lights.

- Wear rubber slippers or gloves while working with electricity.

- Check that wires and cables are not damaged.

- Avoid overloading electrical outlets.

- Do not touch lights when they are on.

- Use a wooden stick or object to disconnect any electric wire if necessary.

Stay safe and have a Happy Diwali!
