Man Fined Rs. 23,000 for Breaking Traffic Rules

After the new Motor Vehicles Amendment Bill 2019 was applied all over India,people have been fined large amounts all over the country. The new traffic rules started from Sunday, September 1. Dinesh Madan was riding a scooter when he was stopped by Delhi traffic police opposite Gurugram's District Court. He caught because he was not wearing his helmet. When the police asked him to show his documents, he did not have them. This is why the traffic police fined him. He was not carrying his Driver’s License and his scooter registration service so he was fined Rs. 5,000. He also did not have insurance for his vehicle so a fine of Rs 2,000 was imposed. Since he was not wearing a helmet he was fined Rs 1,000.
Madan's vehicle did not have PUC so he was fined Rs 10,000. In total he was fined Rs 23,000. Whereas the his scooter was second hand. He has paid only Rs 15,000 for the scooter. The scooter has been impounded by the police. He has to pay the fine online or in court after that he can take the scooter back. However, Madan has refused to pay the large amount. He said that, "I have not violated any traffic rules. They asked me to produce the documents in 10 minutes, which was impossible," he stated.The Union Road Transport and Highways Minister, [Box 08 Nitin Gadkari, said that these new rules will make sure people are afraid of breaking traffic rules.
