Mary Kom Wins Gold For India
At the 23rd President’s Cup a boxing championship held in Labuan Bajo, Indonesia India won seven gold medals and two silver medals.
The 23rd President’s Cup was held in Labuan Bajo, Indonesia.Six-time world champion Mary Kom and 2018 World Champion Bronze winner Simranjit Kaur also took part. Mary Kom won a gold medal 2 months back in India. She took part in the President’s Cup to compete with International boxers and challenge herself. She beat out Anh Vo Thi Kim from Vietnam 3-2 and Austrailan April Frank 5-0 and made India proud by winning a gold medal. Mary Kom hopes to qualify for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics at the World Championships in Russia.
Simranjit Kaur won a gold medal as well. India in total won Seven Gold and Two Silver medals.The Indian women won all 4 gold medals. The men won 3 gold and 2 silver medals. This great show of force won the Indian team the “Best Team” award.
