A traffic cop, Jagdeep Singh, stands tall at 7 feet 6 inches. He weighs 190 kilograms and is the tallest policeman not only in India but also the world. He is so tall that he has to get his uniform stitched by a personal tailor and import shoes from abroad as his shoe size is 19. Previously, the tallest cop in the world was also from India - Rajesh Kumar from Haryana who was 7 feet 4 inches tall. Singh has been with the police force for two decades now and enjoys being the center of attraction, but faces a lot of difficulties due to his height. While talking about the difficulties he faced with this height, he said, “'There are a lot of problems in my life. I am not able to buy clothes of my size, I can't use a normal washroom. And I have to travel in my own car, I can't take a local bus or cab. They are too small for me. There were also problems in his love life while growing up. I wasn't able to find a girl of my height. Nobody was willing to marry me. People thought I was too tall.”
But now, his height is not a problem for his wife Sukhbir Kaur (she is 5 feet 11 inches tall). She said she felt 'proud' being married to the tallest man in Punjab, as wherever she goes with him they get celebrity-like respect. Jagdeep hopes to get his name in the Guinness World Records and intends to continue to celebrate his extreme height.
