Murdered Police Informer Guru Waghmare Had Enemies' Names Tattooed
Police Informer Waghmare who was brutally murdered at a spa in Worli, had body covered in tattoos with the names of his enemies similar to Aamir Khan’s character in ‘Ghajini’.
In a shocking real-life incident similar to the movie "Ghajini," a 52-year-old Mumbai Police informant, Guru Waghmare, was brutally murdered on 24th July 2024 at the Soft Touch Spa in Worli. Guru, known as "Chulbul Pandey" in the police force, had a habit of forgetting things and had over 70 tattoos on his body, including names of police officers and enemies.
Guru lived in Vile Parle with his wife and 24-year-old son. He was an RTI activist and had several criminal cases against him, including rape and extortion. Guru also maintained diaries to document his daily activities using different colors for good, bad, and normal days.
On the night of the murder, Guru and a 24-year-old girl from the spa returned to the spa after a party. Two men, Firoz Ansari and Shakib Ansari, followed Guru and attacked him with broken scissors, killing him. They fled to a spa in Kandivali and later tried to escape to Delhi but were arrested by the Mumbai Crime Branch.
The investigation revealed that Firoz and Shakib were hired by Santosh Sherekar, the spa owner, who was fed up with Guru’s extortion demands. Firoz, also a spa owner, had disputes with Guru and agreed to carry out the murder with Shakib’s help. They were tracked down using CCTV footage and digital payment records.
Guru's wife, Manisha, alleged that the 24-year-old girl, Mary Joseph, had honey-trapped her husband. Mary was arrested along with her former boyfriend and spa manager, Shamshad Ansari alias Suraj, and Santosh Sherekar.
The Mumbai Police are still investigating the case and questioning the suspects to uncover more details about the murder plot.
