Night Curfew in Mumbai on New Year

To control COVID-19 cases in Mumbai, the BMC has decided to impose a night curfew on 25th and 31st December.

The BMC on 12th December announced that it would impose night curfew on 25th December Christmas and 31st December New Year. The night curfew will be imposed from 11:00 pm to 6:00 am. This because authorities found that Night Clubs in Mumbai violate COVID rules and they were staying open till 4:00 am. This because on New Year people in Mumbai go out with friends & family to party at night. Large crowds gather at Gateway, Marine Drive, Juhu beach, Chowpatty etc. People burst crackers. Bars, restaurants, nightclubs, etc. are extremely crowded. In order to control the COVID-19 infections, the BMC has decided it will be extremely strict and put restrictions on people gathering in public places. The BMC has said that as soon as it finds out that there is overcrowding in bars or restaurants, the place will be immediately be raided by the police. There will be random checks and anyone found breaking rules will be punished.
