Pakistani Drones Seen in Jammu-Kashmir, Masood Azhar Warns of Suicide Attacks
Indian security forces in Jammu-Kashmir are on high alert after multiple suspected Pakistani drones were spotted near the border and a viral audio of JeM chief Masood Azhar threatened attacks.
On Sunday, 11 January 2026, Indian security forces in Jammu and Kashmir were put on high alert after several suspected Pakistani drones were spotted near the International Border (IB) and the Line of Control (LoC). The drone sightings were reported from Samba, Rajouri, and Poonch districts, raising fresh security concerns.
According to officials, videos of these drones have gone viral on social media. Security agencies said that the flying objects entered Indian airspace from across the border, hovered for a short time, and then returned towards Pakistan. This pattern has increased suspicion of cross-border activities.
In Poonch district, another suspected drone movement was noticed in the Mankote sector at around 6.25 pm. Security personnel immediately alerted higher authorities and began monitoring the area closely.
In the Rajouri district, Army soldiers guarding the Nowshera sector opened fire with light and medium machine guns after spotting a drone over the Gania-Kalsian village area at around 6.35 pm. Around the same time, another drone-like object was seen near Khabbar village in the Teryath area.
In the Samba district, a drone was spotted hovering for a few minutes over Chak Babral village in the Ramgarh sector at around 7.15 pm. Officials said search operations were launched soon after to check if any weapons, drugs, or illegal items were dropped on the Indian side.
Tensions along the border have increased further because of a recent recovery of weapons. On Friday, 9 January 2026, security forces found a cache of arms in Paloora village in Samba district, close to the International Border. Officials said these weapons were allegedly dropped by a Pakistani drone.
The recovered items included two pistols, three magazines, 16 rounds of ammunition, and one grenade. This incident has raised serious concerns about the increasing use of drones for smuggling arms and helping infiltration attempts across the border.
Adding to the tension, another disturbing development has come to light involving Masood Azhar, the chief of terror group Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and the mastermind of the 26/11 attacks. An audio recording, believed to be of Masood Azhar, is going viral on social media.
In the audio, Azhar claims that a large number of suicide attackers are ready to carry out attacks on India at any time. He says that the number of suicide bombers with him is very high and that revealing the exact number would shock the world media. He also claims that his followers only want martyrdom and are ready to sacrifice their lives.
Although it is not clear how old the audio recording is, it has put Indian security forces on maximum alert. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation, as both drone activities and terror threats have once again increased security concerns along the border.
