PM Modi Advises People to Stay During Festival Season
Yesterday on 20th October, Tuesday evening, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation about the coronavirus situation and cautioned against being lax till the vaccine is available.
Yesterday 20th October evening, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation about the coronavirus situation in India. This was PM Modi’s seventh address to the nation since the coronavirus outbreak in the country. He spoke about the declining graph of active Covid-19 cases in the country. PM Modi said, “ After all the problems that India faced since the Janata Curfew on 22nd March, now life has slowly gone back to normal. Businesses have started, people can go out of their homes, etc. But we must not forget that just because the lockdown may have ended, but the virus has not vanished. The Indian government and each and every citizen of India worked so hard by staying home, made sacrifices, which is why the COVID situation is under control now. But we must make sure our hard work doesn’t go waste and make sure the cases do not rise. The recovery rate in the country is good. The fatality rate is low. Compared to other developed countries, India has been able to better protect the lives of its citizens.
Recently I saw photos and videos where people are not careful anymore. This is not right. If you step out without a mask, you put your family at risk. Doctors, nurses and other health workers are working selflessly but we should not get lax. We should continue to follow all precautionary methods so that we are safe from the virus.”
PM Modi further cautioned using a Hindi phrase, “?? ?? ???? ???, ?? ?? ????? ???!” Which means - till a vaccine comes, there should be no laxity!. He once again cautioned that it is festival time and a period of happiness but even small negligence can bring us grief. PM Modi also asked media personnel and people on social media to spread public awareness for following Covid-19 guidelines.
