PM Modi Plogging At Mamallapuram

‘Plogging' means picking up garbage such as used plastic bottles while jogging or running. Plogging is the combination of two words. Jogging and the Swedish word ‘Plocka’ which means to pick. This is famous in Sweden where people pick up trash while jogging. It has now become famous all over the world. This benefits the environment and helps people to remain fit.
On 12th October, The Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was in Mamallapuram, Chennai for a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping. Saturday morning he went for a walk just like a common Indian person. But PM Modi while walking started picking up the garbage he saw at the beach. Here have a look at the video.
PM Modi then Tweeted and said, He was plogging at the Mamallapuram beach. He walked and collected garbage in a bag. He did this for 30 minutes. After collecting the garbage he gave it to a hotel staff to dispose properly. Modi encourage people to start picking garbage while they walk. So that the environment is clean and we remain fit. Plogging is even better than running. Because when you have to pick garbage you have to bend, squat and the entire body is used.You should try it once!
