During his farewell speech for Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad, PM Modi became emotional and could not hold back his tears. Watch our latest video for all the details.

Ghulam Nabi Azad is a Congress leader and a member of the Rajya Sabha. His Rajya Sabha term ends on February 15. In Rajya Sabha yesterday on 9th February, Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave a farewell speech for Mr Azad. During his speech he spoke about an incident that happened with him and Azad. While talking about it modi even started crying.

He said, “I have known Azad for many years. I knew him when I was CM of Gujarat and he was CM of of J&K. He has a passion not many know about - gardening. In 2007 there was a terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir on tourists from Gujarat. That night, Mr Azad himself called and informed me about this. Modi couldn’t control his tears and had to stop for a glass of water. Azad sounded concerned like people are concerned about their own family members. That is the kind of feeling he showed.”

As the Prime Minister stopped to gather himself, there was loud desk-thumping. He then said, “Power comes and goes. But how to handle it...," PM Modi's voice choked and stopped midway. He then looked at Mr Azad and saluted him. Modi said, "I would not let you retire, I will continue taking your advice. My doors are always open for you." In response Mr Azad said: We debated and fought in the parliament, we had long arguments, but you never let it affect personal bonds.
