A few days back, ISH had released a news about how a local social worker Mauris Noronha who shot dead Shiv Sena (UBT) corporator’s son Abhishek Ghosalkar & then shot himself during Facebook live. In the most recent update on news, the Mumbai Crime Branch has announced that the incident was not sudden but rather a pre-intented murder-cum-suicide plan made intentionally by Mauris. Mauris had hired a bodyguard with a licensed gun named Amrendra just 2 months before the incident in December 2023 despite not receiving any kind of threats. He appointed Amrendra only on the condition that everyday he stored his gun inside Mauris’s office locker to which only Mauris had access. He used the same gun to first shoot Abhishek and then himself. While earlier the motive behind this murder-cum-sucide was unknown, Mauris’s wife Sareena has made revelations about it now. She decided to clear the name of her late husband who is being highly criticized & disgusted after his death.  Sareena claimed that Mauris was not perfect but nor was he the villain social media users have made him out to be. Though she didn't mention the names of Abhishek or his father, she did announce that Mauris’s rivals are responsible for what transpired. She said “I would like to emphasize that one should not trouble anyone so much that the consequences of one’s actions become painful.” According to the reports, Mauris had 2 court cases ongoing against him. The first one was a rape case filed by a woman in 2022. In her complaint, the woman alleged that Mauris had called her to his residence in 2018 to settle a monetary dispute and raped her by threatening that her husband would be killed by the Dawood Ibrahim gang. After which he was arrested and spent 3 months in jail. He & his family denied all the allegations by calling them fake and claimed that Abhishek and his family had conspired against him and that they knew the alleged woman victim personally. Mauris was released on bail in October 2022 and tried to make peace with Abhishek but still held a grudge. The same year, Abhishek's wife, Tejaswi, filed a case against Mauris for using objectionable words about her in a Facebook Live session after being released from the jail on bail. According to Sareena, Mauris was under a lot of pressure after his release. There were objections to his social work-related banners and posters, and he was prevented from organizing events.  She also said that Mauris’ enemies even wrote a letter to the US embassy labeling him a criminal. As a result, Mauris was summoned by the embassy and denied permission to travel to the US until the cases against him were cleared. Some people even tried to stop him from earning a living. Sareena confirmed this and said that Mauris felt harassed by all this. She claimed that he was not someone who could forget a grudge. She further claimed that the criminal cases against Mauris were politically motivated. The rape case against him was planned by his enemies as part of a conspiracy and apart from this, Mauris did not have any criminal record. His rivals bear responsibility for whatever has transpired.  She also revealed “He often said that he would not leave Ghosalkar. We always thought he was saying so in anger, but never thought he would actually do it someday.” Mumbai Crime Branch belives that the humiliation of being a rape accused, spending three months in jail, having 2 cases against him & restrictions to perform social work is what likely instigated Mauris to kill Abhishek.
