A strange new mysterious fever in Uttar Pradesh, has killed 51, 40 of which are children. The fever first started in Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh and there were more than 80 deaths there. Due to the fever rapidly spreading through the region, they have decided to leave Firozabad along with their families to escape the disease. The Union Health Ministry has sent a team of experts to Firozabad from the National Centre for Disease Control. This team of experts has confirmed that the fever is called ‘Scrub Typhus’ and it spreads through Mites. Fever and chills are the first signs, followed by headache, body aches, and muscular soreness. As the sickness progresses, a black, scab-like patch at the site of the bite develops, as does mental impairment ranging from confusion to coma. Organ failure and bleeding can occur in people with severe sickness, which can be fatal. This new infection has now spread to Varanasi, Agra, Prayagraj, Mathura, Mainpuri districts. There is no vaccine that can protect a kid or an adult from contracting this sickness. The drug doxycycline is usually used to treat it. It is most effective when taken shortly after symptoms appear. From September 7 to 16, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered health officials to go door-to-door to identify those who have viral fever or COVID-19 symptoms. Health officials have been instructed to ensure there is no scarcity of medicine and medical equipment. UP is also reporting over 100 cases of dengue and viral fever every day.
