SpiceJet Continues to Fly Boeing 737
Since the Ethiopian Airlines flight ET-302 crash, several countries in the world such Singapore, Australia, Germany, France and Austria have stopped airlines from flying the Boeing 737 Max 8. In Indi
157 people lost their lives, on 10th March 2019 in the Ethiopian Airlines flight ET-302 that had crashed in Addis Ababa. The flight was the Boeing 737 MAX 8. Since the crash several countries in the world such as Singapore, Australia, Germany, France and Austria have stopped all their airlines from flying Boeing 737 MAX 8 to and from their territories.
In India, SpiceJet is the only airline that is has the Boeing 737 MAX 8. SpiceJet has ignored the safety concerns. SpiceJet released a statement saying that, Boeing 737 MAX 8 has completed flying thousands of hours all over the world and is a very sophisticated machine. SpiceJet said they were in touch with the Boeing company as well as the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
An Indian pilot who operates the Boeing 737 Max 8 said that he is scared for his life. He said that pilots do not have a choice. They have to fly the plane to keep their jobs. He said he feels bad for the passengers who do not know about the dangers of the plane. He also said that SpiceJet was ignoring the safety of the passengers.
Malaysian Airlines, Oman Air, South American airlines such as Aero mexico, Aerolineas, South Korean Airline Eastar Jet, Morocco’s Royal Air Maroc, Malaysian Airlines and Turkish Airlines have all stopped the Boeing 737 Max 8 flights.
Manufacturer of the Boeing Aircraft said that the 737 Max 8 is a safe plane. They said they are working on a flight control software which will be installed in all the Boeing 737 Max 8 aircrafts in a few weeks.
