John Henderson is 106 years old and his wife Charlotte Henderson is 105-year-old. They were named the world's oldest living married couple by Guinness World Records.Now, they celebrated another milestone.On Dec. 22, the two lovebirds celebrated their 80th wedding anniversary.
John and Charlotte met in 1934 during a class at the University of Texas.John would pick her up everyday in his roadster car and take her to college. It took him five years to convince Charlotte to marry him. They eventually got married in 1939. And now, 80 years later, family and friends are gathering at their home in Austin, Texas to go through photos and relive cherished memories.
People keep asking John what is their secret for such a long married life. He said "Take every day in your stride.Try to make tomorrow a better day than today." He also said it's important to take care of your spouse.
To celebrate their 80th wedding anniversary, John picked up charlotte in a roadster car and was carrying a bouquet. The same way he had done on their first date.
